OCD is the wine that launched Communal Brands. Inspired by Melissa Saunders’ obsessive nature about wine, her friend and business partner Chris Antista, created a wine in her honor: OCD. She applied said obsessive nature to find the right juice for our eponymous brand, ultimately finding a warm connection in her husband’s native New Zealand. The wine is produced by Hunter’s, one of the oldest and very best producers in the region. Jane Hunter is a legend and an inspiration to the brand. The name? You’ll have to ask the authorities about that ;-).

$19 INVIVO “SJP” MARLBOROUGH, NEW ZEALAND ‘20
Abundant notes of grapefruit, honeysuckle, passionfruit and citrus zest evolve from the glass. At first, the palate is expansive and leads with a wall of sweet-scented fruits and a soft- but balanced- acid spine. The mid-palate grows to another level, where supple phenolics offer a framework to further lift the fruit. The wine continues to unfold and is very long and persistent. Sarah Jessica Parker

the grapes for this basic cuvée of Sancerre are sourced from the vineyards in Bué, Vinon and Crézancy. After harvest, fermentation is done in stainless steel cuves at temperatures between 14 and 18 degrees Celsius. As with all the whites at the domaine, this wine sits in contact with the fine lies for a considerable period of time with the racking being done late in the spring following harvest. The first bottling occurs no earlier than July and frequently does not occur until September of the year following harvest.
$25 DOMAINE VIEUX PRUNIERS SANCERRE ‘19
$23 DOMAINE SYLVAIN-BAILLY SANCERRE ‘19
$27 MARC DESCHAMPS POUILLY FUME "PORCHERONNES " '18 (organic)
this cuvée is a blend of wine from several sites scattered on the hilltop of Les Loges, specifically “La Cote”, and “Les Griottes”. These are some of the younger vines of the estate, now (2012) averaging 20 years of age. Combined this is a two hectare site on clay-limestone soil. This is the most elegant and sprightly of the quartet of Pouilly Fumés produced by Deschamps.
